Normally the rest of the poker world wouldn’t pay too much attention to the Scandinavian Poker Awards, but considering that 2008 WSOP Main Event champ Peter Eastgate was in the running in a number of categories, the ceremony is getting worldwide attention. Held at the Luux nightclub, the awards were divided into five different categories: Best Performance, Best Online Player, Best Live Player, Best Female Player and Rookie of the Year.

Joining Eastgate in the nomination circle were other notable poker players including Ilari Sahamies and Patrik Antonius, as well as Annette Oberstad, who last year took home two awards. Here’s the list of the winners:

Best Live Player — Patrik Antonius (Finland)
Best Online Player — Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies (Finland)
Rookie of the Year — Peter Eastgate (Denmark)
Best Female Player — Magdalena In de Betou (Sweden)
Best Performance — Peter Eastgate (Denmark)
