Over 1 million Euro Jackpot at Casino Tropez Won Posted by admin 5 December, 2008
Tropez. The lucky spin was made in Spain. It is a good thing to see that Playtech gives tremendous jackpots and is keeping their reputation as one of the best software providers. Of course the jackpot was won at a progressive jackpot network and the game is called Global Traveler.
However that isn’t everything that’s new, Playtech has published their third quarter financial results. With some major deals for the software provider, such as acquisitions of William Hill Online, WinGaming Media/MIXTV and a renewed contract with Mansion Poker and Casino, Playtech managed to have really impressive figures for this quarter even though usually it is the worst one in the year. The figures date up to September ‘08.
This quarter has been 67% better than last year and 6% better than the second quarter of ‘08 when it comes to revenues. It is worth knowing that Playtech now reports its revenues in Euro instead of Dollars. The revenues for this quarter amounted to €28.5 million. The online casino and poker room have increased their revenues by 60%, it was probably caused by new licenses in the European market. It is also the reason why the currency in reports was changed to Euro.
The most important thing in the upcoming earnings, for the fourth quarter of 2008 and beginning of 2009, is the partial acquisition of Will Hill which can be as high as $250 million. The exact cost is not known and will only be sure after the acquisition is completed in January 2009. And when the deal will be finished Playtech will earn 29% of all Will Hill’s online gambling revenues.
If you’re living in the U.S. sorry to disappoint you but Playtech no longer accepts players from the U.S. after the UIGEA was passed. Before it was passed Playtech used to get a large percent of its revenues from the U.S. players. Without that it has faced the European market and did a good job. It is now a stable, strong and competitive company.
